Sandra Anstee
Sandra was born in Caerphilly Miners Hospital 38 years ago and made many regular visits as a child. She has always loved the building and especially the facade of the Beeches House.
Sandra is a Housewife and a supply Primary School teacher within Caerphilly County Borough. She is a concerned local resident who feels very passionate that the sacrifice that the miner's made, should not now be in vain. Sandra tell us that
"it is of utmost importance that the Beeches House is kept and that its use is aligned with what the Miner's would have wanted whilst reamaing to be of great benefit to the Community... This building should be used as a vehicle for passing on, to future generations, the value of its heritage. Children should be made aware of why the hospital was so named, this story shoud never be lost".
It is for this very reason that Sandra has a desire to be a member of the Steering Group that is, to try and ensure that the Miners are never forgotten.
Apart from providing general input to the discussions and work of the Management Committee, Sandra has been supporting Peter Jones with the fund raising sub-committee.
